I was supposed to be an engineer.
I was supposed to take over the family business selling machine tools in a now rusty small town in Michigan. Fortunately, I was saved by a camera, given to me in my teens by my father. I immediately fell in love. I stopped cleaning those machine tools and began photographing them for summer work. In time, my father, with a hand-written letter, ‘released’ me from what had been his unfortunate trajectory of not following his own artistic instincts, and I raced off to California to study photography at Art Center.
The love affair has continued for my entire career as a photographer and director, which has been shaped by my values of optimism, compassion and collaboration. I strive to create authentic, aspirational visual stories, to strike an emotional chord and influence change with every image, every video, and every campaign I produce.
I live in Woodstock NY, in the Catskill Mountains near New York City and above my desk hangs that letter from Dad — a daily reminder to follow my heart.

"We did a television shoot with still photography that included 59 set-ups in 6 days, 70 principle cast members and 40 extras. Here’s what we saw, felt and received from Bill:
• Confident, and had a voice at the table with great suggestions
• Picks talented crew that are just as professional and qualified
• Quality composition, lighting and uniqueness in every shot, with literally little to no time
• Delivery, expectations exceeded
On top of all that, Bill is fun to be around and it was a true pleasure to watch him perform his craft with unparalleled artistry."
