No one loves books more than Kelly Notaras. A book editor and founder of kn literary arts, Kelly’s editorial studio has helped over 500 authors write, edit and market their work.
She recently updated her website and foresaw the needs for additional imagery — and video — for social media, events, and so forth. She reached out to me to update her photo library with fresh images to inspire her clients and reflect her new, modern direction. And I was happy to discover, she’s a master planner! She brought many of well-considered ideas to the table and we talked through locations (a friend’s house and local café), lighting (natural, with some supplemental lights for extra sparkle) and compositions (a mix of horizontals for the web and squares and verticals for social media). She even gathered some teammates to create a ‘business’ roundtable meeting. Truly, it was an example of how much value you can derive from a shoot when you plan it out properly — something I’m always telling my clients ;).
